Simpsons Rough 3

This one - between the pencil and the xerox - was pretty grubby, so I gave it a thorough Photoshop scrubbing. In spite of how 'primitive' these designs may seem, this show was one of the hardest for me to draw.

Glad to hear from another Mars Attacks! fan! A friend of mine and I went to see it opening day and had a blast - I much preferred it to the more "serious" Independence Day. And then the reviews came out. Yikes. Now I just say that Tim Burton made it just for me!

Glad you like the blog! I'll keep trying to add new stuff as often as I can.

A little over a year. All of the second season, and some of the third.

Speaking of Mars Attacks, I might as well drop this story here, as another fan of the film...

They did a sneak preview of the film Thanksgiving weekend that year, which happened to coincide with a local SF convention... a sizable number of us skipped out on the evening activities and descended on the theater in costumes and whatnot - I'd say 90% of the theater was fandom... needless to say, we had a grand ol' time - that movie *needs* to be seen with that kind of crowd...
Anyway, this was one of those deals where you could stay for the regular feature for free, after the sneak - I think it was Space Jam... most of us stayed, and this was the night that the theater decided to start playing the cheezy Muzak Christmas music along with the slides onscreen inbetween shows...

It was BAD Musak Christmas music...

And then, not too long after Jingle Bells began, someone started singing along...

In MARTIAN.

Within 10 seconds, some 400 or so people were singing along, ALL in Martian "ack-ack"s...

It was a magical night...
