Hey, found this blog from my girlfriend, S. Soejono, and had to comment on the comics entry...because I've always wondered...why does inking always take 10 times longer for me than the pencils? ;)

Would you mind if I linked you on my own crappy blog, http://www.skycron.com/corp/journal ? Thanks! :D

Inking's easy! It's just tracing, right? :D

I'm doing my comic on a WACOM tablet, drawing over scanned felt-tip pen/paper roughs. My roughs are loose enough that my inking/clean-up takes a lot of work.

Link away! The more, the merrier! Hope your readers like my blog...

Well not to suck up, but *I* like your blog. :D

I've tried using my Cintiq for inking but I just can't get used to the feel. So I generally just using it for colouring. I envy your ability to get used to it to draw in ... I can't.

Which I probably should get used to so I don't have to spend so much money on nibs and speedball ink.

When is your comic coming out? Me wanna see! :D

Oyah, and consider yourself linked. :

I've been on the Cintiq for a while, and I'm still not entirely comfortable, either. I'm just getting to the point where I feel like there's elements of each new drawing that come out the way that I want. I don't think it's been two years yet, so I'm trying to be patient.

One thing that's helped me is to zoom in pretty tight - that's the only way I can see what the line's really doing. Earlier on, I would draw something that looked smooth in the display, only to discover lots of line gaps and wobbling upon printing it out.

Hey, if you can use nibs and ink, stick with it! That's a great skill to have - I never mastered them. It's always been felt-tip pens and brushes for me!

I need to finish my comic on April 24th. It'll be ready for this year's Comic-Con in July, but I'll post on the blog if the compilation's available before that.

Glad you like the blog, and thanks for linking!
