Speaking Of Scooters

Here's an interesting Lambretta spot on YouTube. I'm assuming this is a faux-retro ad, but it's really, really convincing!

What the??
Well what do you know! Hey I love a Lambretta, I sit in this cafe here in Perth Australia sipping on a flat white watching the Lambrettas role up and down Oxford Street...I must confess to a little bit of scooter envy. I do not own one yet, but with the cost of fuel right now I am so serious about a scooter that I set up a blog just to record my findings about scooters, have a look if you like www.scootersnoop.com
See ya in Oz one day!

Cool! Wow - nice to hear from you!

I imagine a scooter could be a really cheap way to travel, depending on how far you live from work.

I've seen a Vespa dealership in my trips to LA, and I get a little tempted sometimes.

I'll check out your blog - thanks for visiting!

That was better than 3/4 of the videos on MTV ... thanks for the link. And, like soejono says, it makes you want to twist. Very cute, clever and fun.

Yeah, it's really cool! I love that bad-prop-machine, singing-in-unison stuff!

So apparently this spot is indeed from the '60s! Which makes it even better, somehow.

I am italian and I can confirm it: the spot is indeed authentic and from the sixties. The singers are the "Quartetto Cetra", they were quite famous at the time.

Yeah! Another friend of mine discovered info about them online (they have a Wikipedia listing).
