Toy Suggestion 5: At The Drive-In

Here's another classic set-up. I'll bet people who've never even seen the show would know this one! Plus you get the Flintmobile, which if it rolled, would make this set well-nigh irresistible!

The only thing I think that would be better is Fred Flintstone on his dinosaur, working at Slately's Quarry ...

Jeff, your suggestions are far better than the preproduction pieces you pictured a few days ago.

Two other setups I'd like to see: Fred and Barney with their Water Buffalo hats. And, bowler Fred in that great twinkle-toes, tippy toes stance.

Thanks! I'm obesessed after seeing the McFarlane line - I have to post as many cool ones as possible! I'm forwarding all of them to the company, too.

I almost posted the bowling Fred. I'll post it later on!

Fred on his dinosaur is a good idea, too! I'll look at the later opening credits and see if I can get a good frame grab there.

Speaking of the Water Buffaloes, did you realize they didn't always have those hats? In season one, they wear these weird Napoleonic things.

I really like your suggestions as well. I hope MacFarlane takes note.

Don't know if you ever saw it-- but RCERTL/Joyride made a diecast metal version of the Flintmobile with characters. Not great-- but not bad either. To see an image go here:
http://www.joyridestudios.com/ent.asp and then click on it in the list. I picked one up at Toys r Us last year for about $10.

Thanks! I've got plenty more ideas to come.

I did see the Ertl Flintmobile! I liked it, but not quite enough to push the 'spend' button.

I did like the Johnny Lightning 1/18 scale Mystery Machine, though!

The cars I REALLY REALLY want are the Wacky Races cars, 1/18 scale, diecast. All of them!

Yum.

I'm sure you've probably already seen the Wacky Races paper models you can download and build yourself:
http://www.paperian.com/webdude/cctoon.htm
Also there are model kits (I have a few that I have never gotten around to building) that you can get at Monsters in Motion
http://www.monstersinmotion.com/catalog/index.php/manufacturers_id/13?osCsid=b6568a897100b3ee...

Toys are better though, since you don't have to put them together.

I have seen the paper kits and the garage resins, but I'm too lazy and impatient for them! Plus, too much of a perfectionist -- I'd probably have to build each of them ten times before I was even close to being happy with them.

Thanks for the tips, though!
