Two Trailers

You can see the joke coming, but at last, The Simpsons Movie has a teaser and a release date. The Clerks 2 trailer looks pretty good, with Kevin Smith back in his Askew-niverse where he seems the most at home. Plus, you gotta give a guy "props" for putting a card like this in his trailer:

Awesome.

You know, I had heard rumors about the Simpsons movie for years and the last time i heard it I just kind of brushed it off, now it looks like they were telling the truth!

Eeeeeee!

But why do I get a very Jay and Silent: Bob Strike Back feeling about Clerks 2? :(

I liked J&SB, so I have good feeling about this one. I have a feeling we're reacting differently for the same reason.

I know what you mean about The Simpsons Movie. I can't believe they're finally doing it, especially after there's almost nothing left to say with those characters.

Well, I'm a huge Clerks fan, really a big fan of the whole jersey trilogy.
So when I saw J&SB I was a bit disappointed that it seemed like a huge excuse to have every one of Mr. Smith's new hollywood friends in a movie.
I don't know...

Regardless, I'm still a huge fan of his and was absolutely devastated that I didn't get the chance to meet him nor Frank Miller at wondercon.

Yeah, J&SBSB was super-indulgent, but I like those characters enough that I had a good time.

I tried meeting Kevin Smith too, but the way conventions are now, you pretty much have to pick: Dealer's Room, Panels, or Autographs? The lines start so early for these things, it's almost impossible to go to a talk and get an autograph afterwards. I settled for buying a signed copy of Chasing Amy.

The same thing happened when I tried to meet David Cronenberg. The line got cut off before I could get to see him. Oh, well.

I was lucky enough to meet Miller at a signing in LA just after Dark Knight Returns. That's still my favorite of his stuff, so it was a good time to meet him then. I really didn't like the Sin City movie, so it wouldn't be the same now.
