The Cars Toy Parade Continues

Here's another great larger-scale Cars toy - a 14" Red the fire engine! It's loaded up with lights and sounds - so cute!

Like the Dinoco helicopter, you'll have to camp outside a Toys 'R' Us if you want to buy it for retail ($20.00) - Red's all over eBay like a rash, so that means the e-scalpers are out in force, bumping the price up by at least ten dollars (not to mention shipping, which is usually too high as well). Sigh. Snag one for me if you see an extra!

UPDATE: Stand down on the extra fire truck - I discovered that you can get Red at Amazon.com (that's Amazon proper, not an eBay store or toy scalper website) for $24.99 + shipping, so I did just that. It's a little more than it would be at TRU, but I'll save that much in gas not driving around searching for it!

I feel for ya. I'm trying to get a Yeti/Abominable Snowplow and a Tongue McQueen without getting screwed on Ebay, and it's looking grim.

In Seattle toy stores, Sally clogs the aisles.

Sally and the Sheriff are the pegwarmers around here (Knoxville)... I *finally* found the first Luigi two-pack the other day... still haven't seen the Yeti or either of the new McQueens (Tongue/Dirttrack)... :(

Yeah wow, looks good! I have the first wave of the smaller cars and most of the second but I'm finding it hard to keep up with all the rest. There's a lot out there!

Is this version of Red a Toys R Us exclusive?

I'll certainly keep my eyes open and be looking for it.

I don't know if Red is a TRU exclusive or not - it's the only place that I've heard that people are finding the Dinoco Helicopter, so I'm assuming both are exclusives.

I hit a TRU this evening, but they said they hadn't gotten them yet.

We have more of the first two series of die-casts hanging around, but none of the latest five.

The small die-cast toys are really tough to collect, as it's hard to know when shipments will arrive, and which stores carry which products. The eBay dealers certainly seem to know - or maybe they hit the stores every other day or something!

The problem is that the sharks know what cases have what toys. When they find someone stocking a shelf the pester them to open a particular case to get the good Cars before they hit the racks. Slime!

Ahh! So that's how it works.
Every once in a while, I'll stumble across a clerk opening a fresh case of something, but that's pretty rare for me.
