The Nerd Can't Help It
Anita and I drove to Mountain View last night to check out the 7-11 there. Eleven of them all over the country have been re-dressed as Kwik-E-Marts (even stocked with boxes of Krusty-O's and cans of Buzz Cola!) to promote The Simpsons Movie.Sadly, the eBay sharks beat me to it again - there weren't any of the custom Simpsons products to be had, so like good nerds, we gorged on Squishees and took lots of pictures! I'm sure there's plenty of shots like this to be had all over the internet, but I thought I'd share them anyhow. Enjoy!

haha yeah I love these! It's that way here too - it's a great way to get people excited about the film :)

Thanks for sharing the photos ... It's a shame the store was out of Krusty O's and Buzz Cola ... I heard that merchandise was supposed to be available at all 7/Elevens, but outside of three collectible character Squishee cups I haven't seen any of it here.
The promotion is great ... and I think it's benefitting 7/Eleven as much as the upcoming movie.
I think you can still find some of the Buzz Cola at regular 7-11's...
Or at least I hope so, bummer though, I was going to head on down there today... Still might just to get a picture with Frostilicus!
Ah! I thought Buzz and Krusty-O's were only available at the re-dressed branches.
Save your dough. In a couple of months those big standing figures will be on Ebay, and you'll want to at least be in the running.
They really should have had a promotion to win some of that swag. Oh well...
Heck, have you seen the movie display featuring modeled, life-size Simpsons on their couch?
Now, those are cool ...
I wonder how many of those will end up on eBay?
Still, the number of characters that 7/Eleven is using within those few, too few, rethemed Kwik-E-Marts, is pretty incredible.
I have seen the Simpsons theater display! It's awesome, but shipping? Yikes. Still, I would love one - there's even a place for patrons to sit and have a picture taken...
I'd love to get one of the 7-11 character standees too, if they're not all wrecked by August!
And then there's the Kwik-E-Mart shirts...!

yes, you can buy the Krusty O's and Buzz cola at any 7-11.
I found some Buzz Cola! I bought a little to drink too, though I'm sure it tastes horrible. The clerk said they've got some Krusty-O's coming in on Friday (amazing - the clerk knew when the shipment was arriving)! I'll go back and pick up a couple of boxes then...
