Man, I'm sure glad he didn't listen to the first advice he was given! He might have given up just because of someone's bad day and missed out on a completely different life. Good for him to have kept trying!
There was a lot of that attitude going around when we were trying to get into the animation industry. things weren't exactly thriving back then, so even if it was unfortunate, it was understandable.
