That got sent around at work today and I was thinking to myself, "Gee, I wish I knew how to say 'Glorious Mess' in Japanese!"
Why aren't they speaking faster?
Yeah, "Glorious Mess" is the term, all right. It's a bizarre collision of a Skittles (or Fanta) ad, Dick Tracy, Popeye, and Wipeout XL. Weird!
The movie looks like it could be a lot of fun. I've read some people's comments on movie message boards and I think some are taking the film too seriously, it is Speed Racer after all. I don't remember the cartoon as being very very weighty philosophically in any way. The film could also turn out as a glorious disaster, trailers can be very misleading, just think of those new Star Wars movies. Not bad trailers had me paying $10 and looking at my watch for most of two hours each film.
I am caught up in its enthusiasm, against my better judgement. I hope it's silly and fun (and that it makes some kind of sense)!
