Uh oh... Am I the only one that will admit to this... I had a Star Wars cake at our wedding, but it became more a joke between my wife and myself during the whole process. However I must say, she did get into the whole decorating thing, even though its cinematically incorrect. (I think it was one of those monumental Bridezilla moments.)
My college roommates had the best time with it, making the characters do things they shouldn't be doing on the top of a cake.
Anyways, funny post!
A cake is one thing, but getting married in full costume? Ducking under an arch of lightsabers as you leave? I love all that geeky stuff, but I just couldn't do that myself - not on my wedding day. It's not like I'm hiding my geekness the rest of the time!
I do think that it's great, though, that geek wives are geeky enough themselves that they're letting it flavor their weddings!
Jeff,
Thanks for the YouTube link ... I've never heard the song and, now, I love it!
We had Mickey and Minnie on our cake ... and as far as costumes go, if you don't think that a rented tux (morning coat style) isn't a costume so to speak, well ... at least it seems more acceptable by family and all your "geek" friends.
