Goodbye, Justin

Justin Wright, a story artist who was working with me, passed away last night. It was a crushing blow to all of us on the crew - he was a sweet guy, and a lot of fun. He loved, loved, loved video games, and couldn't wait for the Iron Man movie!

It's upsetting to see someone so young, so happy to be where he was, get taken away from it all so abruptly. I need to remember, though, that he'd wanted to work at Pixar more than anything, and he got to do it, for over a year.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace, Justin.

PS - If you're interested, you can see some of his artwork on his blog.

I'm so sorry Jeff. That's just so unfair. Just like Joe Riley.

Jeff,
Boy oh boy, I feel for your loss ... Pixar has lost way too many talented people at far too young of an age over the years.
My deepest condolences to you and everyone at Pixar and in his family who is feeling the loss.

That's so sad. I was looking at your photostream thinking, "who's that jovial fellow?". Man...

I hadn't seen his work until just now. What a loss: he's a lovely, intuitive artist. I see a lot in his drawings.

My heart goes out to his family and friends and you. And it is indeed a huge thing that he was able to be fulfilled and happy and live a dream of his this past year.

This is terrible news. A friend of mine introduced me to his blog not too long ago. Very talented and inspiring individual. So sorry.
